Christian Media Radio International (CMRI) is the world broadcasting outreach of the Christian Media ministry. One of several ministries of prophecy author James Lloyd, Christian Media began with a simple newsletter addressing integrity among Christians in the media some 25 years ago. That newsletter eventually grew to a newspaper, & Christian Media began producing radio programs in the mid 1990's.
From the beginning, we have avoided the high profile, glitzy Christian broadcasting that is endemic to radio & television in America. syndicated religious broadcasting usually consists of AM & FM station affiliates, networked through sophisticated computer-driven fund raising tactics. Christian Media's philosophy has been to avoid the mainstream approach and seek out the disenfranchised individuals that are not being ministered to through the commercial version of Christianity.
Christian Media Radio International (CMRI) is one of the broadcast arms of Christian Media, and like the ministry newspaper, newsletters, websites, and prophecy broadcast network (CMN), CMRI features Political, Health, and Remnant Christian style programming. Programs presently carried by the CMRI net include the Founding Fathers Hour featuring Doug Hudson -- a colonial era expert (the author of How Government's Disarm Citizens), and a producer with CMRI as well as CMN. Another key broadcast is Sound Body, hosted by radio veteran Susan Lenox.
CMRI is home to the oldest running shortwave program in America, Hour Of The Time. HOTT was founded by the late Bill Cooper, and his legacy continues under Doyel Shamley and Rob Houghton's leadership. There is even live broadcasting on the weekends with programs like the Politics Of Religion show, hosted by Nelson Turner.
CMRI is distributed via a national Satellite Radio Transponder that broadcasts 24 hours per day via the Galaxy 11 C Band Satellite. CMRI is on Transponder 14 with the Audio tuned to 7.71 Wideband. The network radio feed is unscrambled and is available free of charge to AM, FM, and Shortwave broadcasters anywhere in North America.
CMRI enjoys a competitive advantage due to its proximity to other alternative radio transponders which are on the same satellite. An adjacent radio frequency is considered advantageous because hundreds of thousands of "backyard" satellite dish owners have single satellite reception capabilities. Non-motorized C Band satellite dishes require the dish owner to physically move the dish in order to change satellites -- thus multiple radio feeds on the same dish encourages dish owners that listen to radio to continue listening on the same satellite.
While virtually all broadcast stations receiving their network feeds on C Band satellite have motorized systems, CMRI is committed to serving the listening needs of over a million personal C Band dish owners. To this end, in conjunction with the Christian Media Network (CMN is an entirely separate broadcast ministry from CMRI), promotional efforts have recently been initiated through direct mailings and a display advertising campaign in the leading satellite television guide in America. The recurring advertising suggests satellite dish owners tune to the G11 satellite to hear the Patriot, Survivalist, Alternative Health, and Remnant Christian radio feeds transmitted by CMRI.
Patriot radio has been steadily growing in popularity over the last decade as Americans have become more and more disenchanted with the rampant globalism, out of control immigration, and encroaching government bureaucracy that threatens our way of life. Patriot radio and Constitutionalism (along with parallel subjects such as conspiracy, alternative health, economics, etc) have sharply increased in popularity as a result of the 911 conspiracy.
Editorially speaking, CMRI firmly believes the mainstream media has become grossly negligent in their historic role as watchdogs of the public interest. Alternative and conservative media outlets such as CMRI are gaining ground as the citizenry progressively becomes more suspicious of major media with a corporate agenda. Furthermore, we believe that Free Speech is among the most important freedoms to be defended, and that is what CMRI is all about.
CMRI may also be accessed via multiple radio streams on the Internet. To receive CMRI on the net, simply go to http://www.cmri.tv and follow the instructions there.
